Would you take the grenade? So a friend of mine and I got into a debate about this, don't even ask how it came up, and we had different opinions on what to do. I will post my opinion in the comments tomorrow, I will also post his, both with explanations. Now there are a few premises that need to be addressed first. You are captured by an enemy force and within 1 minute of capture they have you completely restrained except for one hand. There is no escape so you are forced to make a choice.

You are tied to a stake with one hand free.
Your captors give you three options.
- take the grenade now
- take the grenade in an hour
You are allowed one minute to answer the question
You can not change your mind
