I will agree with you that these type of comments do not add value to anything and have not to be placed. On the other hand the whole system in steemit has build in a way that encourage this behavior. There are many posts that advice the new users to vote fast and comment fast in order to have a chance to get back upvotes from the author. In the most posts the authors upvote the first comments in the row, and very few think the way you do. There are also posts that you really have to write something, but there are others that you can only make comments like very nice, delicious , nice picture e.t.c. If you have big SP you can be selective because many users will make comments το your post but if you are a new user every comment, even the spam counts for you.
In any case, i dont like these comments either, i usually ignore them but at the same time i am trying to explain why that happens... Your post offers valuable advice for the things we must think about, before leave a comment !

Thanks, friend, for your very thoughtful comment.
I agree that the way the Steemit system works could be better. I've wondered about the possibility of measuring how much time someone actually spends reading each post... That ought to be worth something!
Yes that worths but depends on how it would be used afterwards :)
