Hey you!! @xplosive Thanks for the mention, although you give me more credit than I deserve. It has been a real pleasure to watch you blossom into such a kind and gentle soul. I know you are nice, but, life is being a bit kinder to you and you actually have a reason to smile.
People love seeing people thrive and do well. I know I do. It is always fun to find different ways to do it, but, outright donating works too. :)
It would be nice to sail around, but, being you will be waiting a few years, and I probably would as everything like boats, Recreational Vehicles, and the like are expensive right now with travel very limited. When the pandemic goes to sleep, they will be flooding the market and the prices will be cheaper than now. I would watch for that time. You can look now, but, you will more than likely get a newer one or a better one that will be affordable by waiting. I am waiting on a Recreational Vehicle.
I was raised on the Atlantic Ocean and my brother lived on a boat for a few years. Wooden boats require more maintenance, especially painting every year, the underside, plus if the boat is older, wood rot. My brother swore that 500 hours on a boat was perfect, even 700 if it was maintained. Sails get damaged. $$$
Fiberglass also needs care, waxing every year or Awlgrip three to five years. I would have to look that one up.
There is so much to learn, but, the journey to learning will be fun! I am wishing you luck and left you a little something in your wallet.
