One of my favourite books on success. Napoleon Hill interviewed over 500 men and woman to try and establish a blue print for success. Below are my top 5.

1- Desire - “The starting point of all achievement is DESIRE. Keep this constantly in mind. Weak desire brings weak results, just as a small fire makes a small amount of heat.”

You must be passionate about what you are doing to be truly successful. If you are not passionate your competitors who are will always outshine you.

2 - Failure - “When defeat comes, accept it as a signal that your plans are not sound, rebuild those plans, and set sail once more toward your coveted goal.”

Failure is one of the key ingredients for success. If you can’t fail you won’t win. Whenever if feels like you have got it completely wrong, you have actually got one step closer.

3 - Perseverance - “Before success comes in any man’s life, he is sure to meet with much temporary defeat, and, perhaps, some failure. When defeat overtakes a man, the easiest and most logical thing to do is to quit. That is exactly what the majority of men do. More than five hundred of the most successful men this country has ever known told the author their greatest success came just one step beyond the point at which defeat had overtaken them.”

The universe will test you, most will give up. If you can persevere past these hurdles you will find the gold you are looking for.

4 - Purpose - “Happiness is found in doing, not merely possessing.”

Money alone won’t bring you happiness. Purpose and meaning are so important. If you don’t have them you will soon find sadness.

  1. Opinions - “Opinions are the cheapest commodities on earth. Everyone has a flock of opinions ready to be wished upon anyone who will accept them. If you are influenced by "opinions" when you reach DECISIONS, you will not succeed in any undertaking.”

Opinions are endless and worthless most of the time. Believe in your gut. There is only one you and your point of view is unique. Trust in it.
