The battles not worth fighting

in #life7 years ago (edited)

As I have become older (and hopefully wiser) I've learned more and more of the need to become more self aware but also LESS self critical.

Competing with yourself and being self critical are of course, not the same thing.

Don't compete with others but more importantly, don't compare your success and failures with others.

Don't compete with friends, with family, with people whom you attended high school. With others in your workplace.

You must learn to walk your own path and you must also learn to accept your failures.

Not everybody can succeed immediately. In fact, most people don't. It's a lengthy battle which will demand many forms of inner strength.

Focus on what you can control and focus on how far you've come. You can improve yourself each and every day and setting realistic inner goals is both healthy and fulfilling.

Not how far you have to go.

Small steps and a deep breath.

You'll get there eventually and when it's your time.
