RE: Our Life on Planet Earth – Part 8: The Meaning of Life.

in #life8 years ago

Ive heard of karma and am a strong believer in it. I never heard of dharma, I don't know how I missed it, thank-you for the lesson. My situation is kinda screwed up. I was a drug addict. I don't subscribe to the once an addict always an addict bs. I believe more in the power of the mind. I myself just kind of grew out of it but there is much damage left in the wake of my abuse. I didn't hurt or steal from anyone to support my habit but I did get in a lot of trouble from possession charges and being in the wrong place at the wrong time. So my criminal record looks horrible on paper and even tho currently clean I'm still stuck with this stigma that effects my life greatly in ways that really suck. Again I never hurt anyone but my self and I'm wondering if you build bad karma even if the person your hurting is yourself. Or if my life is in ruins only because of the insane drug laws. I mean my first felony was for a pound of marijuana in 1998 in FL. I was just turning 18 and I was getting into growing. This kick started a life as a known felon. Now if they, the police\government, had just left me alone with my pot my life might be very different now. I might've been in Colorado or something owning fields by now helping a lot of people. But nope I look like a career criminal on paper and I don't know if I'll ever be able to get away from that. Sorry this turned into a rant. Good writing much enjoyed. Peace
