Perhaps you have heard about Moses, but he was a prophet and his mission was to lead the isralites to their "promised land" (which is israel today). Before they went to their land, moses had a speech. That speech is recorded in one of the books in the bible , this book is called deuteronomy. This book is the fith in the torah. What he disscussed was that our human heart is broken and it doesn't matter if you are a jew or a gentile. The isralites broke every single law God gave to them and keep in mind the isralites had over 600 laws and God keept added laws because they broke another law. at the end moses couldn't handle it. So his solution was that our heart need to be renewed.
It didn't take long till israel worshiped idols such as golden cald or astrology. Not only that most of the kings of israel did some cruel things such as solomon. He had sex with most likely everyone and he became evil. At the end God left israel for a very good reason. Sadly todays christians are led to believe that israel are God's land which it was but not anymore. But one day God will rebuild israel and those who are born again are the real citizen of israel.
The old testament prophecied the coming of their new king, one of the prophecies was that the messiah would die on stick(plank), and that he would ride into the jerusalem on a donkey. Most of the Jews thought their king would destroy the roman authority. but that wasn't the case, Jesus came here for the gentiles and jews. The jews didn't believe in jesus that he was son of God. Jesus tried with all his power to show them that he really was son of God, but that didn't happen. Jesus knew that he would die and had to sacrifice himself. Infact he willingly chose to die.
However, you might ask why does jesus want to die, isn't that suicide? No that isn't suicide, it is called sacrifice. You need to distinguish suicide and sacrifice. Suicide when you only think about your self and sacrifice is when you think about others. He died on that cross because he had to. Remember that God is a righteous judge, and a righteous judge hate evil. and he is holy, holy means pure . If God is pure he need to remove evil since he can't associate with evil otherwise he isn't holy. That's why he sent his begotten son to pay the prize, in other word jesus got punished for our own sake. So when we as humans abide in jesus our judgement from father in heaven vanished you could say that Jesus covers you. That's why we believe that if you don't abide in jesus you will end up in hell. This is not fear mongering because you have the free will to not follow him, you have the choice to make that descision.
When you abide in jesus christ your heart will change because jesus gives you the holy spirit and that day you are born again. So what do I mean by born again? Your flesh got once born but you spirit didn't get born. So when you abide in him you become a new creature a new human being. You will be able to see a whole new perspective on the world. Let me illustrate, let's say your morning routine is that you always goes to the car 7:30 AM and your job starts 8:00AM. One day your wife tells you to take out the trash but you tell her to f**** off (other words) because you are stressed. A week later you got saved, you do the same routine and this you say the same words as you did before. This time you got remorse you knew you did something wrong in your heart, like you knew that this isn't what God wants. This is an example of being born again, your heart transforms.
Trust me on this I'm a different person than i was before, but i do have problems today. The different is that I acknowledge my problem and i'm striving to get my sin vanish. I don't do that because i'm scared that if i don't do works i will end up in hell. I want to strive for that because of God, to please him. Remember you don't these things for your own self but for him.
My tip to you is to atleast get intrested into this, you might think this abit crazy but when you actually try to study you will realise this isn't crazy as you thought. God bless
Some corrections.
You say that Jesus came to the Jews and the gentiles but if you read your Bible you will see that Jesus said he only came for the lost sheep of Israel.
Matthew 15:24
But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Gentiles were grafted in after the Israelite's were broken off because of unbelief.
You can read about this in Romans 11:11-24
Lost sheep of israel, are those who are born again. What's your point with Romans. The bible is all about saving the world, read paul's letter.
If your a lost sheep that means you have not been born again yet.
Something to understand is that Jesus spoke in parables so that people would not understand and be saved. Jesus came for his elect not the goats.
