RE: 3 Lifestyle Changes to Avoid Relapse - A Personal Reflection

in #life8 years ago

You know...I so needed to read this today. It's been a challenge lately and I really need to focus on taking better care of myself (more sleep, more "disconnect" time, better diet) - because you're absolutely right.

Overlook enough of these factors and we set up the perfect storm for relapsing...and that's not something I relish the thought of.

I've heard a lot about the "Cabin" out here in Chiang Mai - sounds like a wonderful place and I've found myself in the past perusing a few of their articles.

I also need to get back to going to NA meetings - that's something that I've let fall by the wayside since I left the US.

From one recovering addict to another, truly, thank you. This hit the nail on the head for me today, and it's time to start focusing more of my time on my recovery and personal health/growth.

And so, so true - these old habits need to be unlearned - they don't just fade overnight, no matter how much I wish they would - it requires constant focus, work, and committment to staying on the right path.

You've definitely got a fan for life here man - I truly appreciate the honesty in your posts about your personal story and from what it sounds like, you've come so far.

Hell yea man. It seems to get a bit easier, the longer I stay sober. I didn't destroy my life overnight, so it makes sense that it would take some time to piece it all back together. I'm grateful to know that today.

I hope you've been well. Somehow, this comment got pushed down and I missed it. Keep writing about your story. Screw what the naysayers think. Writing about my journey has been huge for my own recovery. Getting upvotes, comments, etc is icing on this cake. The truth is, writing this sort of stuff keeps me grounded.
