Quick Tips #1 – Water Chug @ 2PM

In this series, I post a tip that I do or have done to make myself live a happier and/or better life.

Tip #1 – Create a short, dorky activity to do at a specific time at work to get to know your coworkers better and to force yourself to take a break. Mine was water chug @ 2PM.

  • Short activity because nobody has time for anything.

  • Dorky activity because people like doing stuff away from the norm. Dorky is cool now-a-days especially when you have 18% of the office doing it (7 people including higher-level employees).

  • Specific time because everyone will be at the same schedule and come back daily.

  • To know your coworkers better because it turned out for me that going to work everyday was more enjoyable when you have friends.

  • Force yourself to take a break because it leads to better productivity and a healthier self (step away from the madness).

  • Water Chugging (know your water limits or you can die!) because going to the breakroom to refill and drink water is never inappropriate.

  • 2PM because you’ve had your lunch and you need to wake up from that food coma now.
