Oh, it is time for Thanksgiving in the US. A time to gather with others you love, share a meal, and show our thanks....just like the Pilgrims and the indians.
Wait, that isn't what happens. Anymore we come together with people that we don't get along with while avoiding talking points that we are emotional about.
There is no talk of Pilgrims, and indians are now called First Nation. We can't mention either group due to offending the other. We can't even remember the point of thanksgiving so we make it up new each year.
It has evolved from a deep rooted tradition into a consumer driven food fest. We disquise our uncertainty with the idea of being thankful. When it comes times we all say we gather to show how thankful we are for our lives...some how shifting the focus to our jobs, homes, and families.
These are just opinions.

Well thats a cool filter on. The education system in this country is how this happened. I grew up with pilgrims and Indians being the reason for Thanksgiving. Don't even get me started on what they teach kids about the Constitution these days (the wording is completely wrong in text books).
