When I think of major longings, I usually think of three things. First, l long to have an excellent life -- a life thats not good enough but a meaningful life, a life that does not simply exist but one that clearly endures. Second, I yearn for an endearing life -- a life does not felt left out or im treated like a leftover, but a life that learns to love and be loved. Third, I desire to have a productive life -- a life that has fruit, more fruit, much fruit and fruits that last. Try to think of it, our life becomes excellent when we model a life with character. Our life becomes endearing when we minister with care. Our life becomes productive when we mentor with competence.

David, the greatest king of Israel and the person God described as a man after his own heart learned how to experience an excellent, endearing and have a productive life. He showed this life through character, care, and competence. Psalms 78:72 states, " And David shepherded them with integrity of heart ; with skillful hands he led them ". David lived a life of character, as expressed in the words "with integrity of heart". He also lived a life of care for his people. David is a model of with integrity in his character, a minister with intimacy in his care, and a mentor with impact in his competence.
