The line does work, and Iron Man certain has the toys. Stark's a billionaire, too. He's certainly not afraid of escalation, either, and he does have a hard time knowing when to stop—all things Joker would gravitate to.
The question is, does Stark totter on the edge, walk the line like Batman does, between brutality and killing. Joker is fixated on walking him over that edge, even and maybe especially if it's at the expense of his own life. Or at least some versions would. :)
If Joker tormented him like he did Batman. Especially the storyline where joker killed Robin I’d say yes

Nah. Not that into multiverses, or DC. I was kind of hoping they were going to avoid the whole thing, but WandaVision seems to be running full on towards it, for Marvel Studios and the greater MCU, anyway, and DC sounds like it wants to do the same with the Flash movie that's supposed to happen at some point.
All we need is for those two to cross the streams and...

Do you mean JJ Abrams? I've liked all the movies he's made that I've seen so far. Even Star Wars.
In my personal opinion, the DC movies haven't been nearly as good as they could be. Aquaman and the first Wonder Woman are the exceptions. I don't need dark or doubting superheroes outside of Batman and a few others.
