Self Love vs Selfishness
Hey good people!! What separates having a healthy foundation of self love, from just being a selfish self serving individual?? Being a balanced confident tenacious hard working mature adult means having a positive self image. So then what makes self focus, and self driven motivation toxic and vile?
In a time of social justice warriors, and an air of trendiness to being a seemingly "selfless" virtuoso, we've seen the unique increase in the tendency to use alleged "service" as a form of virtue signaling. We are indeed living in very interesting and somewhat confusing times, yet the foundations that define and exemplify positive moral character remains virtually unchanged.
It's a fine balance between serving self, and truly serving others. Having healthy boundaries is a good thing, and knowing what you're worth is also an invaluable skill to have. But finding the sweet spot between self endeavors and contributing to the greater functioning order and collective society at large is essential to peace and prosperity for all people, individually and collectively.
