I have sometimes speculated that Taiwan could conquer the mainland, and China be re-united.

Dear @valued-customer !
As a normalperson who studies Chinese history, I don't remember any historical event where Taiwan conquered China!😉

The separation of the mainland and people of the island of Formosa has never before been informed by all but unlimited military support of the Islanders by the USA.

Since ancient times, Taiwan has always had a history of being conquered and ruled by mainland Chinese.

I didn't say I planned on it. I did use the word speculate, which isn't even a hypothesis. There are different forces at play today than there have been in the past, such as the power of the USG being behind Taiwan.

China certainly has to consider that possibility, even though it's never happened before, at least as far as we know. There is an old aphorism I believe China keeps in mind regarding this novel circumstance, which is that 'There's always a first time.'
