An argument is an effort, voluntary and most of the time involuntary, to justify, assert, or bring others round to a particular conclusion. !

Not only the material point, but also the manner in which one argues for or against one's assertion governs the tone of response that an argument elicits from its respondant. Veracity of the premises, flow and linkage of the ideas, substantive supporting details, and coherence of the framework are basic parameters that add to the force, weight, and permeability of one's propositions. Falsity of one or more premises exposes an argument to counter-strike; hence, leaving it contestable and prone to be rebuked. However, if mastered, the ability to construct refined and logically sound arguments enables a person to win over the contenders both in personal or, for that matter, organizational life.
Interestingly, its the difference of opinion that accounts for a wholesome decision making process. Strategising discourse and a well-punctuated reiteration of projected points lend an element of coherence and uniformity to the contestations. Strong, logical, and cohesive argumentation has been the most reliable tool to convince opposing elements in a subtle way. Egoism, a death knell to logic, should never be allowed in if one intends to enlighten the audience. To uproot a contender from long cherished beliefs, acculturated manners, or adopted argumentative orientation, the wheedler is required to identify first, and then reach for others' rational.
