Another world in my home.

in #life8 years ago

My parents never ceased to amaze me. I do not know where they are taking these forces, but their basement in which they store the flavors of summer is always my kingdom of debauchery. As soon as I got to Poland, the first place I visited was the pantry. You can find many different products there

marinated pepper

marinated mushrooms

pickled pumpkin

raspberry juice

cherry juice

currant juice

pickled cucumbers

And many, many more ... quince, cranberry, pears

Unfortunately, the pictures are not very good, maybe because of light, or maybe I was too excited to be in a magical pantry. The work of my parents who run their own fish shop is not easy.

Nice collection of preservatives. Home made as well. Always come in handy or a productive gift to others.

I can understand you and your parents as well. Who grew up in communism, knowing what hunger means, learns how to do this (myself included). I do the same.

Real treasures are usually hidden in basements.

It breathes nostalgia. My grandmother had a basement where she kept home-made food. Especially the pickled fruit was delicious.

this world is full of delight :)

outstanding photography...☺

Wow! They are really very creative. This is just amazing to see your parents do so.

Oh that brings back memories of my moms cellar where all the canned stuff was kept!

That is an amazing amount of very good looking canned goods. I can understand why you get excited when you go there. Eat, eat eat. I've canned tomatos and pears and dried fruit and other things, but not to that level. It is a nice thing to know how to do. I like the pictures too. Really gives the flavor of what it is like down in the pantry.

This is a fantastic larder!! I wish I could be their apprentice in this sort of things! I have bought two dozens Mason jars just for this purpose in my garden house. But so far, they are still in the box! I haven't got a clue on making jam or preserve fruits or pickles!

I always want to learn to do these things, just in case there was a world war!! Perish the thought!

Cheers.
