The sparkle of the shiny buckle of new Roccio Italiano loafers daze my eyes, but are pacified by the rich texture of Kavaci's leather jackets. I am still baffled by this exotic display of outfits when I have my attention torn away by some latest gadgetry. On one hand I see some heart alluring cell phones whereas on the other hand invisible hands pull me towards some mind-bogglingly cool cameras. I turn around and am lifted to the seventh skies with joy as I am showered with items, from dresses and novels and watches and ties, to sugar and spice and everything nice. No this heavenly description is not one of a dreamland but the supermarket on a screen, Amazon.
Amazon is a customer centered internet based retail system with the world's largest stock and the world's most customers too. With items ranging from daily house hold to clothing, from gadgetry to travel accessories, from tools to books and from furniture to crockery, from items worth a few bucks to products of values of thousands of dollars, Amazon is practically a one stop shop for everyone from students to professionals and youngsters to oldsters.
It is the world's 7th largest website as if today followed by twitter with about 91 million Americans visiting it monthly. Forbes magazine has ranked this shopping hive 13th in the World’s Most Valuable Brands with an astounding worth of 175.1 billion dollars. It has widespread gigantic warehouses spread on miles if put together, which can cover more area than 700 Madison gardens put together.
The ability and facility to buy with a click has literally revolutionized the world of shopping that ironically is not done on shops anymore. This concept is not new but Amazon has made sure to take it to new heights. The multibillion worth web store actually initiated in its founder Jeff Bezo’s garage in 1994 which now houses its headquarters in a sky touching three towered building in Seattle, Washington with 12000 employees getting it the 329th rank in the list of the World’s Best Employers.
Jeff Bezo suggested the name Amazon for his store which was then initiated as a book store. The name of this attire was selected first to signify the grandeur of scale (Amazon being the largest river by discharge of water), and secondly because it started with an A, which had its position booked at the very top in alphabetical order. We don’t know if it was the beginner’s luck or the efficient startup system of Mr. Jeff, but Amazon.com got orders from 45 states in the USA and from 50 countries across the World. An interesting fact about this company is that each employee spends two days a year on the service desk to entertain the customers, so if you are in luck, you may even end up getting connected to the CEO himself if you call to register a complaint.

The exotic feeling of having your favorite things at distance of a click has bagged everyone’s hearts in a shopping bag resulting in the introduction of a new term shopaholic. When you can shop while you party and party while you shop on a plush cushion in the sun or on the beach, there is no limiting your love for shopping. Amazon as the spearhead of e-shopping has established itself as a trend setter and is still marking new boundaries in the world of spending.
