Finding Peace

Peace is something that has eluded so many people whether poor or rich. In fact, it is surprising to know that a greater percentage of people who lack peace in their life belong to the wealthy class. You see, life is a gift from God and he designed us to have joy and peace in all its fullness but that is a state we can only experience when we walk in his will for our lives. That is when you can truly enjoy the joy and peace he gives to the fullest.

But being the humans that we are, we want to dictate our own lives. We want to run the show; a show we don't even know how to handle in reality. So, like a young teenager who suddenly thinks she is grown enough to make decisions for himself/herself, we despise and reject the instructions and guidance of God. By so doing rejecting his peace in the process and in doing our bidding, we find ourselves entangled in misery and a life of no peace at all. A life so miserable that many find not worth living.

It was not meant to be so; God wants us to have peace,joy and he wants to help us achieve that but we won't let him. We want to do it our way and the truth is, our way will not give us the peace we so much desire. Our way is what landed us in this mortal estate to begin with and our way keeps plunging the us and the World around us into further darkness. It is time we give up our way and give God's way a chance. We need it, the World around us need it.

Many claim they find peace in a man, woman, career, activity etc but I tell you that is temporary. How long will that last? The peace I am talking about is different. It is one that is not moved by circumstances, situations, or even time. It is permanent and a feeling like no other. The perfect peace of God through Christ Jesus. That is what we need, that is what the World needs. Not the kind of peace that the World and its governments promise.
