Lets Talk About The Weekend

in #life6 years ago

Busy, busy, busy this last weekend.

I got to play an amazing show at one of the most beautiful places in the country, NAY, the entire world!

Kirstenbosch Gardens

Kirstenbosch Gardens are Cape Town's botanical gardens, founded in 1913 in order to preserve the surroundings' indigenous and unique flora.
More than 100 years later, much has changed in this country, and yet the botanical gardens will - hopefully forever - remain a timeless place, capturing and reflecting much of the beauty this country has to offer.
For many years now, Kirstenbosch has hosted a series of summertime concerts to be held every Sunday. As the afternoon light fades and the air cools, the incredible backdrop of Table Mountain casts its glorious shadow and one can only be slightly awestruck by the surroundings. Nestled between trees and set before a sloping field of the greenest, softest grass, a stone stage has been erected in order to entertain the people. This show naturally attracts a large portion of tourists, and many of the people I spoke to after the show were from England, USA, Holland and other parts of Europe, where its super affordable to buy some ZAR and hop on a plane here.

Unique experience! I just .....envy you :):):)

Thanks buddy. But I'm sure all corners of the world have their own unique gems!

I love visiting Kirstenbosch and have been going there since I was a kid. Looks like you all had an awesome time.

It is just an incredible space. Thanks for commenting :)

Seems like u'd enjoy so much

Damn straight!

South Africa is one in the world. I wish some day I'll be able to travel and explore it! So happy that such events gather a lot of people. Yours faithfully, Sveto.

Nice 👍🏻 Sveto

I am dripping with envy!
Planning something like this is exhilarating fulfilling and exhausting at the same time. I have arranged and help arrange a few in Limpopo, what a brilliant experience.
Well done!

Nice Breezin! Limpopo, that’s fantastic!

I would love to go look up some of your music what is the band called? are you o n sound-cloud?

Yeah man the band is called The Rudimentals but its just rudimentals on soundcloud :)

Stunning, I will go check it out.

Dude epic gig and shots, maybe one day I'll play there haha

The levitating vocalist thing is amazing! Got me laughing the Sunday away :)

Haha. Epic. Yeah man, its a tough gig to get on but totally worth the hustle

Heya

Ya man Kirstenbosch is one of those bucketlist spots. I haven't been in ages. The hot chocolate at the Tea Room is the best!
A couple of years ago my husband @moderndragon took me to see Katy Tunstall live for my birthday. It was lovely.

Was it your first time playing at Kirstenbosch?

Oh brilliant! Yeah it really is a magical place. I'v actually played there about 10 times with various different groups, and I love it each and every time :)
