How to arrange a Japanese garden and its bonsai? (Gardens, Japan)

in #life7 years ago

The Japanese garden is a miniature representation of nature as a whole. This is why it is composed of a series of spaces supposed to symbolize different types of landscapes. Very strongly linked to the philosophical components of Zen, the creation of such a space in a garden will always be synonymous with peace and tranquility. Here you will find some ideas for setting up a Japanese garden and its bonsai.

Main garden decor: the island

Japanese gardens are always bounded by a small rectangular fence. Delineate your space with a low wooden fence. At the bottom of the garden, plant bamboos that will provide you with a visual marker. Each traditional garden symbolizes a mountainous island, even when it is free of water. The creation of such a space is easy. Combine some large stones (ideally volcanic) and arrange them harmoniously to symbolize a mountain. Plant near the crawling plants (helxine type) whose growth and occupation on the ground you control. The goal is to create an oasis of greenery that will symbolize the lower part of the island. Make sure that the planting of these plants follows curved lines. You can install a bonsai that will complement the design. It will be necessary, later, to surround this island of gravel for Zen garden that you rake periodically in order to symbolize the movements of water.

After the creation of the island, place to the vegetation

The vegetation must skilfully invade the remaining space. The Japanese garden is by no means flowery. It is, on the other hand, a garden rich in trees in which the use of bonsai is quite indicated. Participating in the principle of miniaturization of nature, the insertion of these bonsai will create charming effects of perspective and color. Conifers and fruit trees such as orange and cherry trees will be honored. Do not hesitate to stage them, without multiplying them. Better worth a beautiful bonsai well valued than a multitude awkwardly disposed.

Create different scenery

Arrange japanese decorations such as Japanese lanterns or fountains that you can easily find in specialty shops. Do not forget to establish a harmonious circulation system between your various spaces. Your paths can be paved with Japanese steps arranged on the ground and bordered with barriers made of bamboo poles. The red semi-circular bridge is one of the most important visual cues in the Japanese garden. Miniature in the framework of the arrangement of a small garden, in the absence of a basin, arrange it over a space of raked pebbles. Each Japanese garden must be a reflection of the sensitivity of the composer. Trust your eye, and do not forget the golden rule: avoid symmetry.
