CARE TO KNOW YOUR PURPOSE IN LIFE? ASK THESE THREE QUESTIONS.

in #life6 years ago (edited)

I have had the opportunity to speak with so many people asking questions about what their purpose in life is. I wish the ability to tell them right away is there without pointing them to THE THREE QUESTIONS they need to ask themselves so as to take inventory of their skills and interests, starting with what they know as opposed to what they don't know.

If you happened to find yourself in their shoes or position, then I enjoin you to read the questions carefully and answer them honestly so as to be liberated.

WHAT COMES EASY TO YOU BUT HARDER TO OTHERS?

Think about what people compliment you about. Certainly you have at least one or two things that you do well, which get other people to notice. The reason others notice and offer a compliment is usually because it's something they aren't that good at themselves. They even may say that you're weird because you have this special, unusual talent. People are admiring your natural skills that they lack. It doesn't have to be a profound skill; it can be based on an everyday or common activity like writing (poetic) e-mails, cooking (amazing) meals, or creating (beautiful) flower arrangements.

Sit down and really think about this question. Write down what comes to mind. What do people say you're good at? What natural abilities do you have that you may be able to make a living with? Keep in mind that most everything we do is simple to us. Many times our powers are so great that we are unaware of them, which is why they get ignored. You probably take more than half of your hidden talents for granted. HELLO! Let's see if we can't yank them out and capture them as bona fide opportunities.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO NONSTOP EVEN IF YOU NEVER GET PAID FOR IT?

Think about things you absolutely love to do regardless of the money. Everybody knows someone who hates his job but loves to get a check. That moment of receiving the money, however, is fleeting. Imagine having a great time making money from whatever you're doing, but the money is just a bonus. The money is not the reason is not the reason for what it is you've chosen to do. Most successful people I speak with don't talk much about the money part. What they do share is how easy is it to get lost in their work becuase they love it so much. If you can fall inlove with your work, then the money will take care of itself. so I ask you again, financial security aside, what could you consider doing for years without ever getting paid to do it? Create a new list and write down what you come up with. Put your passions before any concerns about money. Think about what activities or areas of interest that trully capture your spirit
get and get you excited.

HOW CAN YOU BE OF SERVICE AND GIVE BACK TO OTHERS?

The more we give, the more we receive. I believe strongly in that. At the end of the day, to know we made someone else's life better is very satisfying. The third question to ask yourself is how you can give back to your community and the world at large. This is a very personal piece to the equation, and it's far-reaching. Giving back entail anything from volunteering, donating, teaching what you're good at, and supporting local charities to providing a much-needed product or services that you know people want. Sometimes time is the way to donate.

Giving doesn't really necessarily refer only to nonprofit or service-oriented jobs. You can be adding value to society just by filling a need or enriching it with your talents through a product for sale, advice, or making other people's job easier. as you grow, you likely will need employees or temporary workers, so to that extent you're providing jobs and giving opportunities to others. At some point your giving for profit can turn into giving for the sake of just giving. Bill Gates created Microsoft to bring the power computers to the world so people like you and me could benefit, but look at what he's doing ow with his success. He's a champion donor and founder or supporter of numerous charitable organizations and foundations that span the globe and affect the lives of billions. The fruit of his labour at Microsoft, from the day he decided to investigate how to make a computer a household item, are now nourishing the world at large on a massive scale through innovation in health and learning.

We never want to be selfish. Another reason to ask yourself this question is to get you thinking less selfishly. That one slight shift in your thinking can help usher in more ideas.

nice post brother

It's so lovely. But discovering one's purpose shouldn't start with oneself it should be like this. If you want to know some functions of a new machine one should return to the manual given by the manufacturer. I the same vein, human beings are created by God I hope that's agreed upon so for any human being made by God to be purposeful he needs to start from in God and by God. Return to his Master plan. The Word by which all things are created.
Thanks

I quite agree with you. As minister, I have met and counselled many born again christian who are on a cross road not knowing what to do with themselves. Even God used what Moses had on him (the rod), David's skill, Jacod's tricks/smartness.

Sure Man of God. We just need to stress for people the difference between purpose and success. Purpose pursuit first and success follows.
