RE: Will there be more peace or war in the 21st century? ... I met nobody who wants not peace

in #life7 years ago (edited)

it depends on which end of the tomahawk missile you are on.
If I was on the crapper minding my own business and some foreign country blows my house up by "accident" and kills my family.
How the hell am I to get restitution? Regardless of the intention, I will be pissed.

Add to that all the other logical and illogical rationale and it will be war with an occasional peppering of peace. It wont be on or off but a bit of all.

Mankind has been killing each other for good, bad and indifferent reasons since the beginning.

Read history or the Old Testament and it describes a species with the frontal lobe capacity for a higher level of living but with core primitive & reptile brains to ensure we wreak havoc too.

@jagged Thank you very much for your opinion on the subject - much appreciated indeed.

In my analysis it is not the people who want to leave their family and daily life to go out killing. People who have suffered unspeakable injustice are seriously ask to make an end to the spiral of violence. Easy said, but I was in areas of war and tried to understand - it´s quite not possible to grasp.
Instead of differentiating between young and old, blue or green, academic or farmer, there is no way out - we have to find a common ground. Thanks again for your thoughts, take care!
