Starting Our Very Own Sea Food Business- Pandemic Won't Stop Us

It's never about how many times you fall, it's about how many times you rise up.

A couple of days ago I posted a sad vlog about how we were forced to close our first business following the pandemic. It was a cafe-resto business that offers affordable meals for students and young professionals. It started pretty well, but barely two months since we opened, the pandemic hit and affected us severely.

Schools stopped and lockdown begins. Nobody's visiting the cafe and there are so many days when we couldn't even get a single delivery.

We were forced to terminate our franchise contract because of our finances.

It was a sad thing to do considering it was our first business. We've put in all our savings there and was even forced to take business loans just to start everything up.

However, I was glad we made that decision, or else we will end up accumulating unpaid invoices to our franchisor even if we are unable to make any sale.

However, we couldn't just give up. Not when our loans are piling up.

Out of frustration, another business idea was born.

My partner and I have always been in love with seafood. Shrimps, crabs, and squids are our ultimate go-to food. Since we live in an island, we have easy access to fresh seafood every day.

First, we came up with shrimps-in-a-bowl. It's an affordable rice meal for only 95 pesos.

We don't have a physical store yet since no one goes out to restaurants around this time anyway.

When we realized that delivery costs more than the food sometimes, we came up with food trays.

It was a hit! Friends and customers who are even miles away from us decided to order.

We received very good feedbacks and orders kept coming in every day.

We're hoping this could finally work.

Wish you guys are here. It would be lovely to share a meal and talk about everything under the sun.
