Don't Wash Raw Chicken at any cost

in #life7 years ago

Today i will NOT share with all of you my food poison I have encountered during the last days, but what I will share is a small hygiene practice with a huge impact on our lifes.

May be you are wondering by now why you don't have to wash any raw chicken, so I will give it to you straight for the following reason:

campylobacter bacteria.

Before jumping into the affects of this bacteria, let me tell you the causes, simply by eating a raw meat especially all kind of poultry.

Hold on, you might say I'm not a raw meat eater!!

Here is the issue, the best environment for this bacteria is that chicken you will wash it on your sink, because it can grows best at 37°C to 42°C, the approximate body temperature of a bird (41°C to 42°C), and seems to be well adapted to birds, who carry it without becoming ill, and usually it will be found on their faces.

So, by washing that chicken on the sink, you will spread the bacteria to all sorrounded area within 50cm, to that tomato you will use it in your salad and even that bowl of unwashed broccoli you will give to your child, it is very dangerous and annoying.

Okay, what are the precuations?
1- Cook the raw meat immediately, (you will cook it anyway) and don't leave any pinkish color and make ensure that the chicken reached at least 74°C.
2- Freeze it, bacteria can't live below.
3- Wash all of the used utensils very well and with heat apply.

Happy Eat and live well.
