SET GOALS AND ACHIEVE THEM

According to Robert Schuller; “if we fail to plan, we are planning to fail.” People do not plan because it is too much trouble, some others do not plan because they have experienced frustrations from unrealistic goals they set before.

If you didn’t achieve all of the goals you set in Year 2017, you may feel like you have failed. But know that failure as an event cannot be equated with failure as a person. There is a difference between the two. The fact that you didn’t achieve some or all of your goals does not make you a failure.
You are not what you have done. You are not what you have. You are not what others assess you to be. You are who God says you are. It is time to reframe how you see success.

Zeroing in on accomplishments that didn’t happen puts your focus on what you lack, rather than on what you have (the things you did experience and accomplish). This subtle mental trap leads to a host of negative consequences, which usually; leads to attracting more lack.

The answer is not giving up the review of the Year 2017. Periodic review is essential to the process of growth and goal achievement. The key is to acknowledge, appreciate, and celebrate what you did accomplish, and then refocus on the goals that you still want to achieve.

You need goals that stretch you. When you create your goals, be sure to write down some big ones that will stretch you.

It pays to have goals that will require you to grow to achieve them. It’s a good thing to have some goals that make you a little uncomfortable. And to do this, you will need to learn new skills, build new relationship and activate your power of creativity, and learn to overcome your fears, consideration (reasons why you shouldn’t attempt the goal), eternal circumstances (obstacles that the world would throw at you).

Now, let me suggest some “Goal-setting process” that was put in place by Brian Tracy
(an author and consulted for more than 1, 000 companies).

Decide exactly what you want in every area of your life.
Write down everything you want to achieve
Set a deadline for each of your goals.
Identify the obstacles that you will have to overcome to achieve your goals.
Identify the knowledge, information and skills you will need to achieve your goals.
Identify people whose help and cooperation you will require to achieve your goals.
Make a list of everything you will have to do to achieve your goals.
Organize your list in priority order. Organize this list by arranging the steps that you have identified by sequence and priority.
Make a plan. Organize your list into a series from the beginning all the way through to the completion of your goal.
Select your Number one, most important task for each day.
Develop the habit of self-discipline.
Practice visualization on your goals.
Do this goal-setting exercise
Discipline yourself to write out at least 10 goals that you would like to accomplish in this year, or in the foreseeable future.

Begin each goal with the word “I.” Only you can use the word “I.” Follow the word “I”with an action verb that acts as a command from your conscious mind to your subconscious mind. Describe your goals in the present tense, as though they had already been achieved. For me my financial goal is “to earn a side income of $25 monthly and save $250 by hew end of October.”

Decide upon your major definite purpose.
Achieving a goal is a lot like flying a plane. You’re guaranteed to be off course 99% of the time, which means that if you want to successfully reach your destination, it is essential to periodically check your position and correct your course.

Tell me in the comments below, what is one big goal you‘d like to achieve in 2018?

Take time to really think about that and take definite action to achieve it.

Solid suggestions here @jaybaba. My big goal in 2018 is to live fully off of cryptocurrency. Ideally, I'd like to be full time on Steemit. I know it's possible and I've got the tangible goals zeroed in!

Thanks for sharing this @jaybaba. Yesterday I wrote about the power of NOT succeeding early on. I'd love to hear your thoughts about it: This Is Why NOT Succeeding Early On Is The Best Thing For You

I wish you all the best in 2018.💯

I also took my time to read your article on your blog. I must confess it was a lovely piece of writing. 👏👏👏
