That sounds odd to me.
It seems to me that it is up to us to focus on user experience, and especially new users experience.
Is it not the interactions we have with others on the platform that determines our experience? Imho its not so much the mechanics that is important, it is how we are received by others, how well we connect with others that will determine the success of the platform.
