Fruits are rich in vitamins and fiber that the body needs. But is the fruit safe to eat before bedtime?

Eating before bed has become a hot topic in the world of health and nurtition for a long time. Many people argue that eating before bed can disturb deep sleep and digestion. While some people say that certain types of foods such as fruit can help sleep more soundly.
Some experts in the world often recommend not eating the fruit too close to bedtime. Quoted from food.ndtv.com (13/9), Dr Ashutosh Gautam, Clinical Operations and Coordination Manager, Baidyanath, said that according to Ayurveda, food should be consumed three hours before bedtime.

When eating fruit and other foods, both must also have the right distance. This is because both have different effects on the digestive system.

Fruits can be digested faster and pushed from the stomach to the intestine earlier. While foods rich in protein and fiber require more time and stomach fluid to be digested.

"The best way is to avoid eating before bed, because this can interfere with sleep.Eating the fruit just before bed can release a lot of sugar, causing a spike in energy, as the body prepares to rest. However, if someone is dieting or hungry, one or two fruit with sugar that is not too high can help it avoid unhealthy eating, "said nutritionist in Bangalore, Dr. Anju Sood.
Experts also say that combining fruits with other foods proves to be too risky for diabetics. Eating fruits with other foods high in protein, fiber and fat can reduce the rate of sugar from the fruit into the small intestine, resulting in a slight increase in blood sugar, compared with eating only fruit.

Therefore, it is advisable to consume fresh fruit rich in minerals, vitamins, flavanoids and antioxidants. Fruit is also better not consumed before bed.
Thanks gan.

Hey @jon92, would just like to note that consuming anything in excessive amounts (even fruits) can lead to weight-gain and not weight-loss. So remember, healthy means everything in the right proportions... whatever proportions may suite your body type, activity levels and metabolism that is.
