Bad days, Good days.

When people start out in life, one of the 101s of success we're always taught is that consistency is key, and all that.

However, everyone gives up, there's really no human being who don't give up, we mostly just do less of it, and more of "keep going" and that's the difference between people.

Infact, giving up is a reaction to exhausting creativity, energy, time, effort and money, even though we all have different elasticity, the energy or effort we can keep giving to a venture that looks dead no matter the effort we apply actually varies from persons to persons. We all have a breaking point.

They say not everyone can be bought, I think this situation also applies. No matter the principles we have in like, we can break, we can change, we can shift, inasmuch as we don't want to, life can be very harsh.

For example, I've seen upright people who are morally just, lose their integrity, and inasmuch as they're mostly to blame, I think life, and not just people mostly plays a role when you see people go from having a lot of honour to becoming shameless people.

A little introspection

If you're currently reading this, I'm sure you must've give up on something in the past six months or may be longer.

You've done things you've probably sworn not to do, you've said things you weren't proud of, you've compromised your morals in ways you're not proud of, and funny enough, there was something that made it do it, and this these are what I call breaking points.

A breaking point is also a point where people give up their standards, it's a point where people can no longer go, where they've given it all, and they have no choice but to do the very thing they probably swore never to do, and this is the humbling that life gives you.

It's not

However, this isn't to say that giving up on things is completely horrible, at some point the best decisions we can always make for ourselves is to abandon ventures when it seems they're not working, it's always a smart choice, because obviously we cannot always continue when it looks like we need a change or need something different.

For example, I pride myself as a very innovative person, someone who probably has a strong resolve of continuity even when things gets incredibly very tough, and I've been there, seen a lot of people who capitulate, and this has always been one of my strongest suits in life, unfortunately I've run into extremely tougher situations.

One's I could have handled pretty well that I obviously wouldn't. You know how life extremely changes based on the difference in turn of events.

One single event happening in our life can cause some other events happening, and other micro events which in turn creates a bigger ripple effect.

For example, no one sets out to be depressed or sad, most of the depressed people you know were once happy people, but they actually became depressed, sad and uninterested with life and every other events in life. People think they were born that way, but they weren't.

It's the same.

Most times, the plot twists in our stories are determined by the things we go through. Life is an incredible piece of cinema, moving in real-time, and one single turn of event can change our trajectory for the better or worse.

One single choice, one single mistake, one single decision made rightly or wrongly.

The problem is, there's no pause, no slow-mo, no rewind, your lessons, wrong choices and horrible/good decisions are only lessons and it's even harder when you can no longer make amends and you're either alive to make corrections, or you're not, some other time you're alive to make amends but no amount of "making amends can work"

But if you have the opportunity to try again, then you're extremely lucky and among the 5% or maybe less that gets the opportunity everyday to try again. If you can try again, then do, the good days will probably come back once you remain alive.

Sort:

Such a deeply philosophical and realistic post! It's true that everyone has a breaking point, but keeping the hope to try again makes all the difference.

the craziest part of life is there is no pause. starting all over, rewind or undo button, the craziest craziest part is we're living conscious of the stupid and some very foolish mistakes and decisions we've made, i am in that phase, depressed, regrets after another, trying to heal move on and hope for the better......

in the end i pray God does have mercy 🥺, realign my path again.

Sometimes I wish we can just take a break and everything would still go on smooth, but sadly once you pause life goes on and things change.
Decided to come on Hive today and your blog was the first page I could think of 😁. Well I miss this space and I'm glad to be back. You're one person that motivates me to keep on writing, seeing how you show up everyday sometimes I ask " how does he do it"
