Choose What Is Good.

This life we live is always a matter of choice. Every second of every day we are put in a situation where we always have to make choices. The moment we wake up, automatically we are faced with different choices, either we get up and start our day or we snooze that alarm button and sleep all day. In restaurants, when we look at the menu, we are given a lot of choices on what food to order, even in our jobs and careers, we had to make difficult choices on what step to take as we further in life. In our relationships, choices are also generously aired out. We choose what type of friends we want to hang out with, we decide whom to share our deepest secrets with, we choose our bestfriends and our closest friends. These choices that we face daily is part of our normal routine in life. Too normal that sometimes we no longer feel like there was a decision making done in our life. It comes out so natural that there is no longer that confusing feeling of which is which.

But also there are those times where we really feel the pressure and weight of having to choose in life. Especially when we are in a situation where the choices given are totally out of your preference. You see, life is a roller coaster of emotions and adventures. We sometimes see ourselves at the peak and it’s very easy for us to see the big picture and the fullness of the beauty of life. However, there are those times where we find ourselves in the darkest corner where all we can see are missed opportunities, failed relationships, broken friendships, consequences of bad choices and a pool of regrets. It is in these times where having to choose is the hardest because even our strength to think and discern on the right choices is fully depleted. Sometimes we ask ourselves, why do we even have to choose? When we know choosing is a gamble. We never know what our choices will bring us until we’re on them. Sometimes we just leave our choices to change or fate, we’ve grown tired of choosing after all the bad choices we made.

Surprisingly enough, the choices given to us are mostly black or white, hot or cold, old or new, good or bad. The lines in between are always thick solid that we can easily see even from afar their differences. The only problem we have in choosing is FEAR. We have this fear in our hearts of not knowing what’s in it for us. We are afraid of what lies ahead of us when we make a particular decision. But no matter how big our fears are, one thing is for sure, we still have to choose. We have no choice but to choose anyway. So I say, we choose what we think is best for us. We don’t choose out of pressure and fear. We choose out of confidence and faith. When faced with extreme choices, I say we always have to choose what’s good. Don’t choose what makes you happy but choose when happy. Don’t make decisions when your heart and mind is not at its best state. Choose when you are at your best state. Take your time. Be patient. Choose to stop and listen around you. Gain faith and confidence in between. Always always choose what’s good. And if you fail, learn to stop and be patient. And wait for your heart and mind to be at a better state, and again and again choose what’s good. Never grow weary in choosing what’s good. Because in the end, what we sow, is what we will reap. Sow good things, and expect to reap good, even better things. 🙂
