Week In Review: Bankroll Project Week 1

in #life7 years ago

If you've followed my early posts, then you know that I started getting back into cryptocurrencies this week with proceeds from my poker playing. The basic plan is to put $20 a day from poker earnings into BTC or other cryptocurrencies. I will then be exploring different ways to play with/invest cryptos, with the goal of growing my position constantly, by more than just the $20. I also am expecting BTC to continue deflation and for my position to grow in terms of dollars.

Here's the week by the numbers:

Here's my weekly chart of sources of growth:

Analysis

The only missing factor in the above chart is a ~0.06 USD loss in my experimenting with BitDice's casino. I posted about why I was unhappy with their system yesterday: https://steemit.com/money/@jumpy/starting-to-have-doubts-about-bitdice-s-investment-opportunity

Obviously STEEM earnings are quite a small part of my total earnings, but hopefully I can start to show a gain over time in weekly earnings which would make the time spent here pay for itself. I'm actually happy with my progress; bringing my reputation from 25 to 51 in 7 days. I still haven't really found any consistency in what kind of posts perform well, but I have confidence that if I keep interacting and posting once or twice a day, my status will grow over time.

Next week I will be able to post about my Poloniex earnings, as I started to lend on that platform for roughly 0.02% a day. After a few more tries, I'll write an introductory post to how you can invest there and whether I recommend the experience (feel free to ask me in the comments if you're curious).

I'm slightly disappointed in my poker returns. I have been very inconsistent this week and only made about $5 an hour. Most of the week I've been playing 0.05/0.10 NL 6 Max tables (apologies to those of you that read that as greek), mostly 4 tables at a time. While doing the other things I need to throughout the day, especially taking care of the kids, I never really got to get into a rhythm and grind out a long profitable session, so I had a lot of +/- $10 sessions.

Look out for my post next Tuesday to let you know how this week goes. After a few weeks, we'll have some better data points to look at trends over time.
