How to solve your relationships problems

in #life6 years ago

Having problems with your loved one is not palatable, but it is an inevitable fact of life that you will, at one time or the other, have a fall out with your partner. Despite being together as one, in reality, you are still individuals.

That means each of you has opinions as well as needs, and this is what makes life very exciting. Therefore, if your relationship means a lot to you and you want to solve whatever relationship problems you have, know that it will take some effort, but it is not impossible to accomplish.

The challenges of life can be very tricky, and we usually view them from our own viewpoint. To deal with a problem efficiently, you need to understand it in its entirety. Therefore, consider how your partner might view the same problem as it is possible that they have their own perspective on it.

But one thing you should not do is to avoid solving the problem. Unresolved issues are a significant source of anxiety or stress. Research has shown that relationships that are termed ‘successful’ are not usually the ones without problems, but those who have discovered how to solve their problems effectively when it comes up.

Hence, here are some tips on how to solve relationship problems.

Find out the root of the problem

You need to take time to define the problem. Without finding out the cause of the challenge, you may not know how to go about solving it. When you feel upset, a typical reaction is anger. But this attitude is wrong; you must find out why your feelings are hurt before taking any action.

Work out the time to have a good talk

This should be a period when you and your partner are relaxed and calm. This is the perfect time when both of you will be able to listen to each other. If you are not sure how to go about it, send your partner an SMS about your intention to talk about the issue.

Talk, and then listen

When you start talking, be ready to listen as well after you have aired your view or perspective about the problem. Talk about yourself, and not your partner. This will prevent your partner from feeling blamed or attacked which may lead to your partner becoming angry and defensive in return. Then give your partner a listening ear so that both of you can agree.

Discuss solutions

You must discuss or bring up a solution that is mutually acceptable to you and your partner. If you know you will not follow through with the solution, then you shouldn’t bother about agreeing to it. If you do, you are setting yourself and your partner up for failure.

The long and short of it is that when it comes to resolving problems in a relationship, communication matters a lot. In fact, it is the number one means you should utilize anytime issues crop up between you and your partner. When you talk to your partner, letting them know how much you care and willing to do to ensure you both have a healthy and happy relationship, it will help in smoothing things over between the two of you.

The best mindset I like is, that it is completely fine if relationships don't go smooth.

Image a world when everything will go smooth and without effort?
It soooo boring!

So embrace the challenges, and make they way out of them even stronger :)

Yes Yes Yes smoothly in life don't always happen... We should treat each other with understanding!

Me and hubby used to argue alot but now we are older we realise its a waste of time arguing about silly little things. We talk more :)

Happy steeming

I used to argue a lot as well but it all stopped when I started giving her Steem dollars when she was mad. Works like a charm :)

In my opinion the steps you mention should be common sensed but they are not as most relations are based on who is going to be the leader in them. That's the result of not knowing how to respect your humanmate and react with no ego but with the willing to communicate and reach the same goal .
Good topic . Resteemed( what the heck ! I pushed the upvote button and from 25SBD went to 40SBD ...Is my voting power so strong?)

Building the chemistry between you and your lover is key. Understanding eachother would make the relationship grow better .

I love my wife but we don’t always agree on things. The bottom line though, is that I love her so much that even on our worst day..I am still the luckiest guy in the world.

My point is that if you love someone unconditionally, it doesn’t matter what happens. You love each other and love will always prevail. It sounds cliche..sure, but it’s true.

I’ve been in numerous relationships before I married my wife and there was never a good enough foundation to make the relationship last.

One day I met the love of my life and it literally clicked..
I immediately knew why no relationship id ever been in before had worked.. she made everything clear.

I’m sure this sounds pretty cheesy but I’ll take the opurtunity to pay homage to my wife for being so awesome.
Thanks

Thanks for this post.one other thing people mistakenly do is copying other peoples relationships.most times what worked in one couple's example may not work in yours. Its very important for those in a relationship to have an understanding of each other such that in case of a misunderstanding, you have clue of how to handle the situation

these problems really hard to solve !

you are doing some kind of these posts these days.. do you have some problems? i hope not..

As per relationship is concerned, the best thing first is to Shed all EGO and put your head down and accept..
Dont go in search of root cause as this may further deter the relationship.. To prevent more harm happening to the relation, say Sorry, go for a drive, dinner etc, and speak try to understand where it went wrong ( leave your ego in the dustbin), who was wrong, even if the other side is wrong, say sorry, and as you iterate, you will see the magic...
Never run from problems, or be speechless for 2-3 days.. that all will tear away the relationship.. be close and it goes on ...

Cheers...

Thanks alot for this relationship tips. However it is easier said than done. The problems in relationship are of different sizes, still you opinion is still the basic solutions

is depend on families to solve the problems
relationships is everything

"How to solve your relationships problems?" ... Most people would answer "talk" or "understand each other" but before we go to that process, I'm pretty sure we have to do one more thing first. Let's learn to "stop" for a moment and and forget the problem. Think of positive thoughts even just one minute and ask yourself, "Is this anger, anxiety, burden, madness, jealousy and everything bad I feel weighs more important than the joy we can have only if put things in right places?".
It might sound easy but trust me, it's pretty hard specially in third party issues. This is not only attitude, it's also a skill.

Thank you for your advice.
I was talking about my partner not me.

God bless you

Exactly! That's why I feel that we have to be the 'Actors' of our own Life and not only reactors to circumstances and peoples attitudes.

Talk about yourself, and not your partner.

If we would all, when discussing problems, would talk about how we ourselves were there at a certain point and not blame them, but understand them.. We would certainly be in a better place. Empathy is a key word here!

Will you ever run out of great posts!? You just keep 'em coming.. hahah

Amazing post @JWolf! As always :D

It is such a useful post! congrats, though I also miss you daily reports!
maybe after your exam, u will write again!
cheers and good luck @jwolf

This is a very good and instructive piece. It will be quite helpful to a lot of us who might have one or two forms of problems in our relationships. Thanks a lot.

Solution of every poblem in relationship is talking. You have to talk every day abou everything and be 100% honest. That's my opinion and it is working in my relationship. I messed up many times, but I was honest and tell her the truth and she forgive me, and I forgive her when she messed up. Beacause people do things they regret afterwards, cause they do something when they are mad or sad or angry, upset you name it, but it is't really them, it is the emotions. So I believe that everything is forgiveble, when you love someone and you see it bothers her/him. So talk with your partner about everything everyday, and BE HONEST! It really can help and save a lot.

men wants sex is not 100% true.

What makes you think that? Of course men want sex.

Me and hubby used to argue alot however now we are older we realise its a waste of time arguing approximately silly little things. We talk greater :)

@upvote

talk talk and talk and solve the problem :)

Learning the art of accepting and valuing your partner for who he or she is .

I have no problem with relationships as I was lucky enough to marry a Mrs. Right.

I just didn’t know her first name was “Always”

Just remember my friends that you won’t go wrong if you remember that your spouse is ALWAYS right.

Oh! Sorry, forget that. You will always go wrong.

If your wife is nagging you, just answer as nicely as you can. Here’s a good example:

Wife: “You lazy pile of shit, why don’t you get off your arse and clean out the garden shed?”

Nice husband: “Of course my beautiful darling. I will do everything you say. You just don’t need to keep reminding me every six months.”

I agree with these steps with the caveat that the couple is in a healthy relationship where they respect one another.

love it I totally agree, great post you should read my Post on my experiences with my relationships.
