Why does it not look and feel real? Like other social medias, we post when we feel, and mostly when we want our thoughts and concerns to reach others. We aren't pressured to post anything .We don't work tiresly to find topics that are catchy just to draw people. Well unless it's all about the attention and the #upvotes or #likes. the social media are seen as part of life .there's no feeling of 'i'm way behind or what if say, FB or Instagram fails tomorrow?
People join as newbies and they mature with time. There's no rushing till they gain their places.
I must confess, when my friend told me #steemit pays, I considered joining steemit. Of course when I saw how little I made on my first few posts, I was quite discouraged . I learnt from others how the get where they were. Hard-work and patience and all were the responses I had.
And I believe a lot of you got the same replies.
But this is something I've realised. Most posts, are not authentic. It's more like, I need to write to gain so let me find something to write. And these write ups sometimes have no weight.
What gears your writing really affects what you write and how you write.
Not all of us are skilled in terms of blogging ,poems and all of that. I think it will be best to sit down to find out what you are good at, then from there ,you might wanna share with the world.
Secondly, just like we treat other social media , I think it will be best to know this is not just about the money too. If you are to be paid for your works, then why don't you relax and do stuffs great once and for all.
If you just joined , you don't expect to have same benefits as those who have been here for some time. And you shouldn't just copy everything they do because probably that's what gives them their reputation.
Why did you join # Steemit?
**Majority of us joined because it pays . Others after joining also discovered their writing abilities ,photography ,spoken words , arts, infact a whole lot. But let's be frank here. without knowing all these discoveries, the sound of dollars gingered us to join.now you are in don't make it waste. If for start it's not like u expected make your own discoveries, make good use of it, have fun,learn ,find your interest as you still buy time to reaching the top with your new beginnings.
Please I'll advise, when you join, focus on your work, Get customers, advertise, learn your skills, learn techniques ,and don't forget to choose # quality over # quantity .
Like setting up a business ,you don't make it all of a sudden except in some exceptional cases.
But ask yourself, will you spend your money on anything which isn't worth it.? Good. So aim at selling good stuff. And don't forget the customers,I mean the readers around will need time to get used to your post .
So to all newbies, Take your time, stick to quality, make friends ,advertise, support others, and keep learning, enjoy what you do , make up your mind it's a long term business, and hey, be smart to grab the opportunities( # challenges here and there, comments) and let time surprise you. Just stay real ,genuine and patient.

All you've said is exactly what one needs to do as you've just joined steemit. Definitely, what separates street mm it from the other social media is the reward, but then there's much more. You get to find what you're good at and people appreciate you for being yourself and sharing what you love out there with others. It's true that it'll take time for people to get accustomed with you once you're here, but till then have fun and do what you love to do best,bid you don't know it find it.
