You know that saying "its getting to close to home" well I can say that now.
We had a nasty scare on Tuesday, me and my youngest were sat in the house relaxing watching some TV when my oldest daughter who lives a good hour away from us texts asking if we are OK & If we have been evacuated. We didn't have a clue what she was on about, she said her friend who lived 2 streets in from of us had text her asking if her family were OK. We jumped on Facebook as when something is happening it's the best place to go for up to date news.
We found a few posts mentioning a few streets had been cordoned off with police and bomb squads, police were knocking on doors asking people to leave there homes. We picked buts up from Facebook and Ticktok, I found a, last talking about herself being evacuated with the police not telling them anything. Slowly pages were updated with what had happened, there had been a bomb scare. The police and bomb squad had been there since 1pm, we were just catching up with it at 6pm.
On Wednesday there was little bits on the news channels and in the Newspapers, we found out there was suspicious activity at the industrial estate, rumour was they had found a package, not sure how much that was true or if it was anything to worry about.
We later read that explosives had been found in a house. Bombs were being made but still didn't have any other information other than a 30 year old man had been arrested but was now out on bail.
Its now Friday evening, there's still no more information, its all gone hush hush no one is saying a word. Nothing more on the news or newspapers or on social media.
Its scary to think how close this was and if it wasn't for my daughter texting us we wouldn't have had a clue. I don't use Facebook very much so wouldn't have gone looking plus don't read Newspapers anymore, if I need some information I'll search the Internet. Its scary to think that someone has been sitting in his house constructing bombs with intent to e e danger lives, innocent lives.
This world scares me and has me worried sick about my granddaughter who is only 3, what will the world be like when she is an adult. How will she cope, hope will my daughters cope. How can we make the world a safer place, stop the hate and let everyone just live there lives. We are all human beings. All we want is to live in peace.
