Having a hard time with medication, I hate Thursday mornings 💊🤮😭

HAPPY WEEKEND EVERYONE

I am having a hard time at the moment, I've mentioned in a past post about some new medication I've been prescribed Alendronic acid 70mg tablets, these are for Osteoporosis, These help slow down how weak your bones get. You take them one day a week on the exact same day and can only be taken with tap water, anything else could stop them from working properly. I've been on these now for about 8 weeks. I am supposed to take them for 2 years then off for 18 months then have a bone scan.

I have a fractured spine after having a really bad fall down my home stairs, its since decompressed and there nothing that can be done mainly because when I had the accident I went to the Doctors, had an Xray all the Doc said was its Osteoarthritis, he missed the fracture. I'm now in so much pain with it, I have Physio exercises to strengthen the muscles, I take other pain medication for other health problems.

I dread a Thursday morning, even thinking about it makes me feel sick. I get up at the same time each Thursday, a good 30 minutes before eating anything as they have to be taken on a empty stomach plus you have to stand or sit upright for the full 30 minutes. I drink mineral water a lot as hate tap water so taking the tablets with tap water make me feel sick, that settles down after breakfast for a couple of hours then the sickness, indigestion, headache, dizziness and Brain fog starts, this goes on until Saturday when it starts to ease. I have enough health problems without having to put up with this for 3 days every week.

These tablets are hated by dentists as they can cause problems with your Jaw if extracting a tooth, guess what I need. I'm going to the Dentists on the 1st of October as a tooth is breaking up, its in the back of my mouth so was going to ask for it to be removed. They will assess my mouth and teeth then decide if it can be done then or I may have to wait until the tablets have left my system.

Risk of Medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw MRONJ: Invasive procedures, such as tooth extractions and dental implants, slightly increase the risk of MRONJ, a condition involving delayed healing or bone damage in the jaw. The risk is higher with longer treatment durations and intravenous (IV) forms of bisphosphonates.

I am going to have to phone the Doctors on Monday morning to speak to the Doctor as I can't take these anymore. Im feeling so low with feeling ill all the time but trying to not moan to much to my hubby and daughter as all I seen to do is moan. I'm coming out of this week's sickness slowly, hopefully will feel a lot better tomorrow tea time, then the thought of having to go through this again next week is depressing me.

Fingers crossed I get an appointment on Monday as at the moment it's impossible to get appointments, I have to ring on the dot at 8.30 and hope I'm at the top of the list.

Thank you for visiting 💟💟
