Thank you for your reply!
I already started to wonder where the angry, triggered gun-nut reactions are!
Hm, strange. You are obviously wrong again, I am not angry, just reasonable.
Kitchen knifes are not made to kill people.
Thank you, but I knew that already. Guns are not only made to kill people, but also to defend people from being killed and to defend property.
And because the criminals don't need to fear to get shot, they also carry guns less often. A LOT less often. Like nearly never in countries with strict gun laws.
Means people getting burglarized in those countries are also in less danger then if they would have guns.
Unfortunately this is not right, just the opposite. Look at Britain and various other countries please!
This is my point:
In nearly every country criminals are able to get unregistered, illegal weapons. Unfortunately. Weapons are around here. We can not deny this. Criminals have and will have weapons.
You should not prefent normal citizens and tax-payers to get weapons also, to be able to defend their loved ones and their property, just in case a criminal, drugged gun-nut shows aggressive behaviour.
Please be realistic. We do not live in a dream world and we are not able to build a dream world as we like it, at least not by banning guns from normal, law abiding citizens. And the criminals will, as always, give a fuck about your gun-laws and your dream world.
What you think about this arguments?
I'll let the first 2 google hits answer, okay?

The second link has all the data you need. If you look at comparable countries (wealth and general war status) you will see that my point holds valid, yours not.
Oh, I'll add this graph, hit number 8 or so.
As far as social statistics go, this is a fairly exact linear trend.

Intersting outliers: Mexico, with the drug war. Germany, with very strict gun laws. Background checks and likely more important storage - for example the rifle in your home must be in a locked placed and (I don't know the english words) unable to shoot without putting a thing in (and of course not loaded with ammo, too).
Chile I don't know anything about.
