kaizen

in #life5 years ago

"Kaizen", a Japanese word which basically means making little improvements everyday. I probably didn't define that exactly right but that's the general idea. Its easy to get sucked in and get overwhelmed by the vastness and expansiveness of the human experience. Our ability to perceive past, present and future and time in general, while being an evolutionary miracle and a marvelous gift also feels like a huge burden a lot of the time. The very moment I came across this term, "kaizen", it resonated with me for some reason. Its not a new concept. Wise men and women have said various variations of this concept countless times in the past but I think I get it now. Our minds, while being a miracle in and of itself hasn't evolved enough to properly process, or rather cope with the infinitely complicated concept of space-time and everything it encompasses. One thing at a time, that's how we survive. That's how we get shit done.
Make one improvement to your life, your dreams, your relationships, your passion, your hobby....whatever every single day. One tiny little thing.
