Tips to reduce your stress

Stress is something that we all go through in our day to day life. Stats show that more than 75 % of adults reported having moderate to high level on a regular basis. Students are no expectation as they undergo through a lot of stress during exams and it really affects their mind and body. If this problem is so prominent, there has to be a solution. So, what are the scientifically proven ways to reduce stress and anxiety? So, I am going to explain that now.

Laughter

Looks like laughter is not only the best medicine but it also helps in reducing stress. When we laugh, our oxygen intake increases simulating the increase of endorphins. So, next time when you are stressed, why not go for a comedy movie show. Even when you are waiting in queue to watch that funny movie, there is an increase in beta endorphins level by 27 % which really helps you feel relaxed. In case the movie was really hilarious, you go back home feeling relieved and happy.

Chewing gums

Chewing gums reduces stress in a great way by reducing the cortisol level in your saliva. Studies have shown that while you are chewing gum, your brain treats it as some kind of function that's going on which relates to increased activity in your cerebral area, hence helping you relax a bit. Scientific research has shown that when two people underwent the same stress test, the one who was chewing gum performed much better.

Walk in park

I would also recommend that you can have a walk around a park or someplace bearing a good number of plants, trees and flowers. Time spent in nature or even a simple house plant can lower your stress level. In just one short visit to the forest, cortisol level, blood pressure and heart rate have all been shown to be decreased. Even hospital patients who have a view of nature are seen to have better pain tolerance and faster recovery rates, compared to those who just faced only a blank boring wall.

Music

Music plays a key role in reducing stress. Listening to music with around 60 to 80 beats per minute with no lyrics can help you reduce stress effectively. It creates a better mood and charges you up to take on different tasks which you are planning to work on. Mind you that I wrote no lyrics because if the song is lyrical, you tend to focus on what the singer is singing and sometimes, these lyrics aren't really uplifting, rather they are really depressing.

Pets

Being around a pet is also a good way to reduce stress and anxiety. Having a dog correlates to lower scores on anxiety tests, that is 12 % with respects to 21 % who doesn't have one. Studies have also shown that having a friendly dog around can help reduce your cortisol level and increase oxytocin. No wonder why dogs are considered as one of the most faithful pets.

Make out

Well, looks like making out with your partner reduces the stress level in a great way. Study participants who kissed their partners regularly over six weeks had lower blood cholesterol. It makes you feel attached, bonded, loved, secure and contented. This technique works more effectively on women then on men. So, no being forever alone, instead go ahead and kiss your partner, only if your partner isn't the reason for all your stress.

Fidget spinners

Fidget spinners right now is the biggest craze among kids and teens. Teachers are already started to ban these things from school saying they create more problems than one could imagine. But in reality, these do help you in relaxing while you are undergoing some stress. I agree that fidgeting for absolutely no reason is not good and it's get you addicted but if only you stop making use of it like a toy, rather like an equipment which can help you relieve stress,it works like a charm.
