I believe every couples dream is to get married, so i want to share our experiences and things we did before we get married. Yes, I agreed his proposal to be his wife and we did it properly in a church wedding.
Church requirements had a lot of things to comply. I don't know if all churches has same requirements).
Marriage Application Requirements
Birth Certificate (New) / PSA or NSO photocopy
Baptismal Certificate (New) purpose: For Marriage
Confirmation Certificate (New) Purpose: For Marriage
Marriage License - Municipality
CENOMAR - PSA
Permission from the other Parish if not a parishioner of (church) (bride only)
2x2 Picture (1 copy each) Latest shot with white background
So if you already have the number 1 on the list, you just need to get a 3 pieces of photocopy/xerox, photocopy cost ₱2.00 each.
If you haven't had yet, you can go to nearest place of PSA where you can get birth certificate. It must be both of you, the bride and the groom.
Birth Certificate PSA cost ₱280.00 as far as i remember, Same as Cenomar PSA in number 5 in the list. It'll take days before you can claim it.
I don't know, it may due to process.
So let's continue to number 2 on the list, Baptismal Certificate must be new because the purpose for marriage needs to indicate in your baptism certificate.
Each of you needed to go to the church where you've were baptized.
It only cost ₱150.00.
Same as number 3 in the list.
You need to go into the church and get the confirmation Certificate.
I think it cost same amount as baptism certificate.
In my husband case, he isn't baptized in Roman Catholic church.
We really thought that aglipay is same as catholic.
That's why my husband has to be baptist first in Roman Catholic Church.
Let's proceed to number 4 on the list.
Bride and groom must be there together to get the marriage license because you need to attend the seminar and to answer questions in the paper that the municipality staff gave to both of you.
The requirements are:
Birth Certificate
Cenomar
Cedula
2x2 picture
You need to have the following requirements to proceed to seminar. They'll give you a date for when you can attend to the seminar, it's a way to get the marriage license. If you don't do that, you won't be able to get a marriage license.
Number 6, It only applies to bride that hasn't a parishioner of the church where you've chose to get married.
Number 7, it depends on how much it cost in your place. In my case, i only spend ₱80.00 in total for me and for my husband.
I just took a photo of the both of us and edit it in Canva app to removed the background and replace it with white background.
So if you are all set and complete requirements, you can now submit it to the office of the church.
At the same time, the office staff will ask you if you already decided a date if when you're going to get married.
You need to pay for reservation date, It cost ₱500.
They will give you a piece of paper that shows the list of things you both need to be done, like Seminars.
There is 3 sessions of seminars.
The last seminar you need to invite at least 2 to 4 pairs of your "abay".
There you will also write the names of your principal sponsor's (ninong & ninang).
Oh, I forgot to mention...
You also need to pay for the electricity that will be used during your wedding, it cost ₱800.
Anyway, regarding the design of church in your wedding, it depends on you if you choose bonggalicious or simple.
Me? I choose simple design, i want a simple design rather than bonggalicious not because it cost huge, but because I liked it.
As you can see it has white flowers in left and right, also it already have a red carpet.
It's beautiful in my eyes.
The church design cost ₱4800.00
Overall i paid ₱11,000.00 to church, including transportation.
Btw, before the day of your wedding, you both need to get back to the church. Both of you needs to be there to confess with father/priest.
