Buddha quote explained – " Pain is inevitable , suffering is optional "

in #life6 years ago

Gautama Buddha , the founder of Buddhism gave his many teachings on life to mankind for their real benifit so that we could live more happily and filled with love .
In this post , I am going to deeply explain one of his quote “ Pain is inevitable , suffering is optional “ with help of an example .

It is very easy to understand if we go step by step deeper into understanding this quote . Here Buddha wanted to convey that problems occur to human beings at two level – Body(Physical) and mind(Psychological) .Of which Buddha wanted to convey that pain is the concept of body and suffering is the concept of mind.

Explained - Pain is inevitable

Suppose ,
Person X got injured in legs and then hospitalized due to injury . In this case , he is having pain in his legs which is inevitable till the root cause of this problem gets healed by doctors . Person X can’t avoid pain in this case because it will automatically be vanished when the body will heal itself soon .

Explained - Suffering is optional

Suppose ,
Girl named X had a very deep relationship with a guy since last 3 years and now due to some misunderstanding and other issues they broke up and now X went to depression(psychological) .Now in this case X is facing psychological issue – suffering . Buddha said in this teachings that Suffering is optional because it’s in our own hands to be with that suffering or move on in life .

It’s in our hands :

• To understand the root cause of any psychological issue and solve it or let go of it
• To release all our dark past and let go of everything that causes us to suffer
• To take our own power back from the people that criticize us in our journey and really uplift ourselves with self – appreciation
• To learn from everything in past and turn suffering into blessings and lessons
• To believe in our own power and believe in our dreams when noone is there around us to say “ You can do it “
• To transform our mindset and reallly look as positive side of any suffering

In last , I want to conclude that pain is psychological concept and it is inevitable till the root cause of physiological issue gets healed but in case of suffering we can turn every suffering we had because of our past into lessons and blessings for our life.
