Chicken Roll

The chicken roll is a cake made of wheat flour dough that is extended and filled with a chicken or meat stew and rolled to create a stuffed cylinder that is then cut and served very elegantly. It is a recipe that is ideal to prepare in advance and serve for guests and friends, is also splendid to carry camping or walking. It can be prepared with chicken or meat, it is also nice with a fish stew.

What you should take care of is that the dough is very thin, if you want you can change it for ready-made puff pastry, it is especially delicious with puff pastry.

Prepare it in advance and you will have a delicious and pleasant dish at all times.


Ingredients

1/4 red or green paprika
1 1/2 large carrots or 3 small ones.
3 sweet chili.
1 cube of chicken or meat.
1/2 medium onion
3 garlic cloves.
1 tomato perita.
Parsley,
coriander,
cerely (celery),
cumin,
bay leaves,
English sauce to taste.
2 chicken breast cooked and mechado.
It can be varied by making it from ground meat, meat to grind, or fish.

Dough:

500 gr. of wheat flour.
50 gr. of butter without salt.
1 glass of oil
1/4 L. of water.
salt to taste.


Preparation

Sofrito:

Cut all the ingredients of the sauce into small squares as small as possible, sauté in oil until browned and add the English sauce and the bay leaves in small pieces. To this is added the chicken (Breast) or the meat of your choice previously cooked and grilled, if it is ground beef is thrown directly without previous cooking fry for 5 minutes without stopping moving. A small glass of water is added and left for 2 or 5 more minutes until it is almost dry.

Dough:

Put the flour in the form of a volcano, place the soft butter, oil and water in the center, knead little by little until it comes off the table and hands. Form a ball and reserve.

Assembly:

The dough is stretched with the rolling pin until it is thin, the cold filling is placed in the center and it is turned as if it were ham bread taking care that the filling does not come out and it is painted with egg so that it stays bright. It is taken to the oven over medium heat until it browns.
