In the 1800s the struggle for a fair workforce with shorter working days for the working class became a constant battle which was finally resolved, and the 8 day workday was carried out on May 1, 1886 by the Federated Trade Federation in America and Canada. Today there are about 80 countries that honor May Day and what it represents.
Robert Owen of England, utopian socialists filed a ten-hour charge in 1810 and this was only given to children and women in 1847. In France, workers demanded 12 hours a day after the February 1848 revolution. In 1891, May was celebrated for the first time time in Russia, Brazil and Ireland.
In South Africa, on May 1, 1986 (the 100th anniversary of May Day commemorated in other countries), the South African Workers Union Congress called for a temporary suspension, demanding that May Day be recognized as a public holiday. More than 1.5 million workers gathered in all major cities. Premier Foods was the first major company to declare May 1 as a paid public holiday and several other companies followed suit. After the first democratic elections in 1994, 1 May was inaugurated as an official national holiday.
The happiest one is to be the most important day the world has devastated all crimes against labor. and labor is our strength.
