In 10 days it will be my 40 year old birthday and i have been wrecking my brain thinking about how to spend it.
One idea i have is to take my wife out to a restaurant.

That's a great idea, but taking her to a restaurant is like having any other date right? As they say, life starts at 40 so you gotta make it a little something special. Why not do something exciting with her or your family. Go on a vacation or do something you have never done before. This coming birthday of mine, I'm planning to go to the beach with my family. Spend a couple of days there to relax and have fun.
That's a great idea and i would love to do that, but the problem is that my wife is almost 8 months pregnant with our second son. I dont think she can travel too far.
I see. How about a surprise dinner date with your eldest son. Try not to mention anything about your birthday prior and act like you don't have any plans. Then bring her to your favorite resto or a new resto. Suprise dates still works very well.

Hey hey had mine last week. Do something you have not done before for a change. Something different to celebrate the beginning of life at 40. Check you bucket list and get one of those in your list crossed out. Don't do that dinner thing. Go out and live life! For me we celebrated by climbing up to the mouth of a volcano. It was one on my bucket list and I never felt more alive climbing that volcano. Live life my friend live life. We only live once.
