Dalam mencari ilmu diperlukan kesungguhan. Seorang pelajar tidak boleh bermalas-malasan, sehingga dari sini terbentuklah adab santri kepada dirinya sendiri.
- Menjauhi dosa salah satu adab menuntut ilmu
Adab seorang pelajar adalah senantiasa menjauhi dosa dan maksiat. Sebab seseorang akan terhalang dari ilmu yang bermanfaat dikarenakan banyak melakukan dosa dan maksiat. Selain itu, dosa dapat mendatangkan siksa Allah.
Ilmu adalah cahaya yang menyinari hati seseorang, adapun maksiat merupakan pemadam cahaya tersebut. Oleh karena itu, seorang yang bergelimang dengan maksiat akan kehilangan cahaya dari ilmunya.
- Tidak sombong dan tidak malu dalam menuntut Ilmu
Di antara adab seorang pelajar saat menuntut ilmu di kelas adalah tidak sombong dan tidak malu dalam menanyakan ilmu. Sebab kedua hal itu dapat menghalangi semangat mencari ilmu.
3.Mengamalkan ilmu adalah adab menuntut ilmu paling utama
Hari ini banyak pelajar yang belajar agama hanya untuk menambah wawasan, tapi mereka enggan mengamalkannya. Padahal seharusnya ilmu dipelajari untuk meningkatkan amalan. Karena amalan itu adalah buah dari ilmu.
