What does it mean to be born again?
To be born again is the act by which a person who was dead, that is, separated from God, becomes alive. It begins to have a healthy communion with God. When a person faithfully repents of his sins, he asks God our Creator for forgiveness and gives all control of his life to Jesus Christ.
That is to say, he recognizes him as Lord and owner; then he works a spiritual miracle. Such a person passes from death to life. Before he was totally separated from God, and today he becomes his son. Before he was on his way to eternal damnation, and now his eternal destiny is the house of God.
Romans 10:9 "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
If so, what will be the price of salvation?
The price of salvation is very high, life itself. That is why God has decided to give it to us as a gift. Ephesians 2:8-9 tells us: "For by grace you have been saved, through faith, and this is not from us, for it is a gift from God, not by works, so that no one can boast.

To be saved you need to repent of your sins, accept what Jesus did on the cross as payment for those sins, and accept him as your Lord. It's not enough to just believe Jesus existed or to believe he died and rose again. Salvation is like a gift: If you don't consciously accept it, you don't have it.
