There are so many self help coaches, financial gurus, ministers of madness ...
trying to teach people 17 bajillion different tips and techniques.
I don't think that's really necessary.
I'm going to make a bold statement and say we all just want to be happy ...
right?
Well, what does it mean to be happy?
To me, happiness means the conscious expression of gratitude without excessive pain ...
What ... ???
What are you even talking about bro?
Well, it's actually not that complicated.
1)
If you are so drunk, or depressed ... that you are not conscious ... you can't really be happy ...
so first off, make sure to practice being present.
2)
If you don't appreciate the things you have you will always belonging for something else.
You can still want things ... but if you never appreciate what you have, you will never be happy
(Hint ... practice gratitude)
3)
Don't experience excessive amounts of pain ...
We all have a friend ... maybe they are a runner or perhaps a real estate agent ... they like pain ...
Most of us ... I'm guessing ... are not masochistic and prefer pleasurable experiences ...well that's normal!
If you are in pain ... it may be a bit harder for you to experience gratitude ... sooooo ... deal with it!!
Emotional pain?
talk to a friend
Physical pain?
do some yoga
Your friend is a pain in the ass?
they might not be your friend :(
Life, IN MY OPINION, (caps to quell the haters) is not that complicated.
If the body is healthy it will feel good.
If the mind is healthy it will think good.
If the soul is healthy it will be good.
Three things ... three things is all we need to focus on ...
Once you have mastered those, come back and I will have another lesson for you.
You have boiled some fundamental things down to their essence and truth, however, as someone who has struggled for a lifetime to overcome childhood trauma being happy is not that simple or easy. I’ve had to learn and I’m still learning, so far it’s taken me over half my life. In a way I envy those who find life simple and easy, but I also value to the depth I experience, the richness that comes from not being afraid to experience the dark as well as the light, and the compassion I have for those that are still suffering which gives me the solidity to be able to help them. Happinness is part of a tapestry, but not the whole thing. Ironically, I’m far happier through having embraced my pain than I ever was when I didn’t realise I was in pain.

Pain is a burden, often placed on us by others who did not know how to transform it. You have been granted an opportunity to heal the world through healing yourself. With each moment that you embrace yourself as you are, you are creating an intensely vibrant new type of energy that allows others to do the same more easily.
Thank you

buena :)
Well said @metama. U put everything well together, life ain't so complicated for the wise and the smart.
There’s definitely some truth to this @metama. LOVE that Winnie The Pooh / Piglet quote too

Very nice words of advice. Always good to get a better concentration of body and mind. Many people are not able to do this often. ITs a matter of focus. thanks for sharing.
si se puede con esfuerzo y trabajo siempre siendo positivo
of course! When we realize happiness is a product of our own personal creations, we no longer need to look outwardly for it.

We always try to be happy. The fact is, we can't be happy all the time. Its like living our lives. We don't live always. Death will always come whether we like it or not. We live, we die. Vice versa for those who believe in life after death.
But for now, I'm not really that happy.
Practice being grateful for what you have!

Good advice. Happiness is quite simple for most of us.....for those who have traumatic experiences or suffer from mental illness it’s a bit more tricky. But I like your post and agree with your points.
