- A letter from Neuralink, owned by Elon Musk, suggests a controversial experiment.
According to the information in this document, the company is already testing a brain-computer interface that could give people extraordinary mental abilities comparable to those of an Artificial Intelligence.
- No one knows what these experiments involve, but they have already begun on the guinea pig. The letter presents plans for a small operating room and a room for housekeeping, says Daily Mail.

At present, Neuralink wants to launch products to help people paralyzed or affected by neurological diseases that can not communicate by themselves. The technology will become widely available over the next 8 to 10 years, Elon Musk believes.
Neuralink is a start-up founded in July 2016 by Elon Musk for "medical research" and funding comes especially from its founder.

Eugenics is a horrible, horrible idea to merge man with machine. Why would anyone trust or want to buy into an ideology that is first tested on disabled people and promoted as a GOOD thing by the opinionated media.

I'm not a religious person but I am a spiritual person with faith. I don't expect anyone else to believe me because we each have our own journey and experiences in this life but, my experience in life has confirmed to me that this world is only temporary. I wholeheartedly believe that we are not the person we think we are inside this limited body experience.

Eugenics is just pure fear and I'd rather not live being controlled by fear.
Every human being for hundreds of thousands of years has died and left this world. The idea of eugenics is a selfish idea born out of fear where people think they can escape nature and cowardly avoid their own death. What right do any of us have to claim ownership of this reality by choosing to avoid death? It is depriving our children of the future they deserve.
Nature works very well without human interferance. Whenever we manipulate Nature, it has a funny habit of kicking back and showing us how small we actually are,
Evolution is part of life. If humans had not evolved in past we might have been living like apes or some other species would have evolved. If you look at bigger picture there is nothing like human interface. Is it possible that whatever we do is by our free will which can not be defined by any hidden laws or mysteries of nature? For me the answer would be no. Everything we do is definitely natural, if you do not look at it from human eyes.
I fully respect your opinion as I would hazard a guess that this is the most popular idea. Most people believe in the theory of evolution. I can't deny, evolution is a very logical conclusion as we exist in a time-based cause and effect reality so it does make some sense when your consider our environment.
However, it's still not proven as it's still a theory and there are many things that evolution can't explain. I do believe evolution could be a part of the bigger picture but not to the extent that some people believe.
Evolution doesn't explain why every human being has a spliced strand of DNA. The second strand of our DNA has been edited somehow. This does not happen in nature and no geneticist can deny it.
Anyway, back to the main topic, do you believe merging with technology is natural evolution or humans interfering with it?

Oh I absolutely agree that cell phones are the first stage in humans merging with technology. However, the point I was making was regarding the ultimate aim of eugenics which is to become immortal. In my opinion, immortality is an aim born out of fear. The fear of death.
Our experience here as humans is so precious simply because we all die. Eventually. If we were all immortal, we would lose the value of life and the world would be a very VERY different place (and not in a good way) I believe the fact we all die is what makes us all special.
Western society views death as a bad thing, as something to fear at all costs. Wouldn't it be wonderful if this mindset evolved and we all learned to embrace death as the next chapter in our experience? After we had made our mark on the world and contributed something good.
This topic can get deeply religious very quickly so I'm trying to approach it from a logic perspective. As human beings, none of us have a right to claim ownership of this world. We are all here for a short amount of time so lets live a positive life and build a better world for the people who follow us when we pass on.
@richreeve @modemser it's rule of survival, we need to adapt to the changes and improvement of the world like the microchips they put in people's body to identify them or to buy things. I would gladly adapt into any changes if it doesn't affect or offends my beliefs in life, if it does then I rather die.

This is an incredibly complex topic that can branch off into many sub-topics. One of which is what you call 'improvement of the world' I hear this opinion from people all the time and I see it as an assumption that may not be true. There is a lot to be said about times gone by.
Not too long ago in our past, life was simple and people knew real happiness.Sadly, today we have a massive amount of problems in society that didn't exist a few years back. Depression and mental health problems have reached epidemic proportions in our society. I believe this is a direct consequence of technology and the anti-social, isolating aspects that come with it.
Another thing to consider is the wider implications of our rapidly growing technology. As I'm sure you can too, I can imagine many scenarios where we might destroy ourselves through our technology. The very fact this is easy to imagine is a problem in itself because it increases the chances of it happening.
As a species, we have no idea if the GREAT LEAP has been passed yet or if it's ahead of us. The latter would mean our probable end.
People are also very quick to assume that we are the most intelligent humans today but I don't think so. In fact, I believe we are getting dumber and dumber with each generation. I believe the 'genius' benchmark has dropped considerably.
Finally, most of our opinions are dependant on our understanding of whats true. We put a lot of faith in people who are proven liars, who seek dominion over us with their power and authority. I say this for one reason.. can we REALLY trust our history books?

No, as of now you can't trust anyone other than your instincts. History are made by the winners. History can be manipulated. I am a Godly person which means I MUST believe in bible BUT I'm not quite sure if all the articles written there are pure facts or at least written by God. As I've said history can be manipulated. There are a lot of conspiracy going on how the bible was edited. I only filter the things I accept.
I so much agree that people are getting dumber and dumber. I mean look at the trends in social medias, most of it are nonsense. The people in the past thinks greatly for our time today, but we're still basing from the theory of the great scientists before because we can't yet prove it. Theories are still theories. We are not moving, we're still stuck from the knowledge we had before. Wait.... Is it because of us? Or is it because that's what the government or the people who has the "power" wants us to do? Absolutely, I agree. I'd feel slightly more comfortable if this research was motivated by curiosity but I fear most of this research is born out of a fear of death.
I'm not religious but I do find it a bit strange that the bible warns against the 'mark of the beast' anyone with this mark is condemned to hell. It basically says no man will be able to buy, trade or lend without this mark on either their hand or forehead. It's the same section that mentions 666 as the devil's number. To have predicted this over 2000 years ago is incredible and I don't want to gamble away my soul.

I so much love elon. But I'll prefer a brain computer interface that is wearable not one that needs to be implanted into the body. I believe technology should be an extension of humans not part of us or another new organ. Humans still need themselves 100% to be happy (at least truly happy) like I said in my introduce yourself post where I expressed my view on technology
