Could not agree more Nicole, we have been herded in to the mentality of always having new shit, what is wrong with a 6, 10, or 12 year old car? What is wrong with having a €50 or €100 watch? why push to be part of this elite consumerist society? For me this is part of veganism. After all contiguously buying new shit takes up more resources than using something that is already produced.
Even if you are broke, your time is still priceless, why not give some of that to people or animals who really need it. Thanks a mill for checking it out too.
Haha we drive a 13 year old car and it still works :D Might fall apart soon but we will continue to drive it until then.
For me it makes no sense to buy a new car each year or 6 months just because a cooler one got out.
I totally agree with you, I've also noticed that the more I get rid of things (donate to charity or sell) the more free I feel. Only keeping what I really use is so liberating and it have made me get in touch with my feelings more.
Not shopping them away means that you get in touch with yourself more and realize why you feel the way you do :)
I wish there was a shelter near by I could volunteer in. All of them are full and don't take new people in at the momement :D
What a great sign, no more volunteers needed!
