In Thailand there is Tiger Kingdom. This defiantly allows for some photos that will make your friends and family go "Wow!". There are two locations, Phuket and Chiang Mai, that you can visit. I visited the one in Chiang Mai and it was a great experience. Spent about two hours there looking at and visiting varies sized tigers and a lion. The tigers were running around playing with the workers there and were very energetic because they had just finished with there after meal naps. They have a restaurant on site too. Great looking cats...
Cats sleep 16 to 18 hours per day. When cats are asleep, they are still alert to incoming stimuli. If you poke the tail of a sleeping cat, it will respond accordingly.
That is a really interesting fact that I did not know! that explains why we were not allowed to mess with any of the ones that were asleep. Could only admire them from a distance and not disturb them.
Cats often overract to unexpected stimuli because of their extremely sensitive nervous system.
