RE: Shockingly Unsurprising: The EU Considers Allowing Banks To Freeze Accounts

in #life7 years ago

This happened in Argentina when I was still living there with 18 years old, ppl went to the streets, riots for more than a week, the president had to leave on a helicopter. On the following week 5 presidents tried to take control, they would give up one after the other until they called elections.

At that time one peso was equal to one dollar, basically you could not withdrawl more than 300 pesos per day and all your savings where turn into pesos even if you had them in dollars, people lost something like 10 times their value.

This procedure was called "Corralito" as little farmyard, many said this was an experiment to then implement in other places, it happened in Greece not so long ago. Be aware this can happen in the USA and EU anytime :/
