When I first started learning Korean 6 years ago, I would look up the lyrics to my favorite songs online then write them down in a notebook. After, I would read along with the lyrics while listening. For me it was extremely helpful because I recognize my own handwriting so I could remember phrases and words easier. As far as grammar goes, I really wouldn't this method though. I'm just speaking for Korean.. I would memorized phrases in the songs and try to use them in real life but they often wouldn't work because a lot of songs don't use "real, standard" language rules or don't exactly have the proper hierarchical vocabulary that Korean culture has to apply (ie: speaking formally/informally depending on age and societal status)...haha... it was a long lesson learned.

Thats very interesting !! i would use that method in school. i wrote everything down. it took a lot of time but i remembered the visual of my hand writings better than typos also. So i see where you are coming from and how that actually works. !! great way ! cheers
